Caring for Your
Driveway....
Thanks for
considering
Asphalt of Duluth,
your choice for residential/commercials drives!
It's important that you receive the most crucial and valid information
about what to look for in the coming days of a finished asphalt drive.
Caring for your driveway as shown below will insure a long and healthy
life for your drive. Listed below are some things to consider:
The first 2 weeks are vital:
- It is important NOT to
drive/walk/set weight on your driveway for 4-5 days.
- Wait at least on the
last day of the recommended time to "park" anything on
your driveway (this time allows for the driveway to completely set so the
asphalt doesn't sink in/change shape)
3-5 month care is necessary:
- Don't park on your
driveway during this time on extremely hot days
- Keep any sharp objects
off the drive (anything that will dig into your asphalt)
- Avoid turning the
steering wheel when you have parked on the driveway
The look of your driveway
- Sometimes, placing a
driveway requires different tools. In varied instances, raking
may be necessary and we want you to know that the area may look a little
different. We assure you this is normal, and will make those areas less
likely to
become weak and crack.
For "FALL" driveways
- Be aware that when you
lay a drive before winter time, the asphalt curing process
will go dormant until it resumes in spring time. So, when calculating when
the
finishing time of your driveway is, consider this. |
